Frequently Asked Questions

Remote Online Notarization lets you get your documents notarized from anywhere with an internet connection — no driving to an office. You'll join a secure video session with a commissioned notary and sign your documents electronically using our compliant notarization platform, Pactima. The entire session is recorded and produces a tamper-evident digital audit trail, which actually makes RON more secure than traditional pen-and-paper notarization.

The Signary specializes in surrogacy and fertility-related legal documents — gestational carrier agreements, egg and sperm donor contracts, parentage declarations, and more. If you're working with a fertility law attorney and need documents notarized, chances are we handle it. Not sure if your document qualifies? Reach out and we'll confirm before you book.
-
Each signer joins the session from their own device and location. There's no need to coordinate everyone into the same room or the same time zone. As long as each participant has an ID, a camera, and an internet connection, we can get it done.
-
Three things: a valid, government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID), a device with a camera and microphone (laptop, tablet, or smartphone), and a stable internet connection.
-
Most sessions take 15–30 minutes depending on the number of signers and documents involved. We'll have everything prepared ahead of time so your session stays focused and efficient.
-
Once your session is complete, we will issue your invoice. Once that is paid, you'll receive digitally signed and sealed copies of your documents, within the same business day, if not within the same hour. These are fully executed and ready to file with courts, agencies, or attorneys — no waiting on mail, no chasing down originals.

We understand that life happens, and we're happy to reschedule with reasonable notice. However, if you miss your scheduled appointment without canceling or fail to appear for the session, a $75 missed appointment fee will be charged. This fee covers the notary's reserved time, platform costs, and preparation work that goes into every session. To avoid this fee, please cancel or reschedule at least 2 hours before your appointment time.

The vast majority of U.S. states have enacted permanent RON legislation, and the number continues to grow. If you're unsure whether RON will work for your situation, we're happy to help you verify before booking. Please contact info@thesignary.com with any questions.
